Trying to find why items entered on calendar on the iPhone do not sync onto the calendar on my Mac. Items entered on the Mac do sync to the iPhone calendar.

Have checked settings on the iPhone and Mac and can find nothing to change.  The problem existed with my iPad Touch, so I guess that the problem is with a setting on the Mac.  Any recommendations?
